Before this project, I was unfamiliar with Adobe Photoshop; however, I quickly gained skills to highlight certain sustainable strategies I found exemplary from the H-E-B Mueller Store in Austin, TX. H-E-B is a grocery store chain that supports the betterment of Texas' environment by committing to sustainability. Recycling, conservation, eco-friendly products, and waste reduction are some of their core values.
In 2013, Lake Flato Architects completed the construction for H-E-B Mueller. This project was designed as a guide for how H-E-B would remodel and build new buildings in the future. This site was certified LEED Gold in 2014, earned a 4-star rating from Austin Energy Green Building, and was awarded 2016 AIA COTE Top Ten!

H-E-B Mueller has a variety of sustainable strategies that could be applied at downtown Tucson's Ronstadt Transit Center. Reducing the heat island effect with shade and trees, diverting rainwater, bicycle repair stations, electric vehicle charging, and solar panels are some strategies that could be implemented right away!
I progressed through this assignment by first making sketches of sustainable strategies. The six square photos at the top of the page demonstrate the progression of this project and skills learned in Photoshop.
